Built by operators. Trusted by founders.
Hyre AI is a startup-specialist recruitment agency founded in 2023. We began in Data & AI and grew alongside early AI-adopting startups, and today we combine technical credibility, community access through Thames Valley AI and the University of Reading, and our own AI hiring tools to help founders navigate the messy reality of early-stage startup hiring.
Our Story
We built Hyre AI because the old way of hiring wasn't working for founders. We needed a process that moved as fast as we did, without sacrificing quality.
Watch Sam talk through how we went from a data consultancy to building the hiring platform we wish we had.
Founder's Story
Why we built Hyre AI
Our Team
We’re a small team that cares about craft; in hiring and in how we work with people. We’re direct, responsive, and biased to action. Expect honest advice, tight feedback loops, and a high bar for quality.

Founder
Sam has nearly a decade of recruitment experience and began his career specialising in Data & AI hiring for high-growth businesses. He founded Hyre AI in 2023, combining that market knowledge with a builder’s mindset and a passion for solving startup challenges. Drawing on his earlier experience as a database developer during university, Sam built Hyre AI’s in-house AI-powered hiring platform to make Hyre AI more efficient than ever.
He’s also Co-Director of Thames Valley AI, which keeps Hyre AI closely connected to emerging teams, communities, and best practice. Sam’s a genuine tech enthusiast - from leading TVAI to running a Code Club, and continuing to tinker with databases and web development.

Recruitment Consultant
Sam has been building since day one - launching a data consultancy straight out of university while helping grow his family business through digital marketing. Today, he supports early-stage teams hiring engineers and technical operators who can create clarity and structure in messy environments. He’s founder-native in how he works: direct, responsive, and focused on ownership and outcomes.
As former President of the Entrepreneurship Society at the University of Reading, Sam is especially interested in what makes high-potential builders thrive - autonomy, rapid learning, and meaningful responsibility.
Ecosystem credibility
Connected to the UK’s AI ecosystem - close to emerging talent and best practice.
We’re closely connected to the UK AI ecosystem. Our founder is Co-Director of Thames Valley AI (TVAI), a regional hub working with the University of Reading to support AI adoption, improve public AI literacy, and attract talent and investment.
